Coincidence or God’s timing?

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | Coincidence or God’s timing?

How do you experience God’s timing? I seldom understand it. I think that is what the people in the Bible experienced time and again. They were frequently waiting for God and expecting something, but it did not happen the way they thought it would.

For instance, the disciples who went back to Emmaus had many expectations. But things did not happen the way they thought they would. Jesus had to explain the events to them in order to open their eyes.

I also experience that myself. We have to learn to see God’s hand in things because we are often in the middle of it all and we don’t understand when something happens.

In April, we had the annual Jesus.net conference and 150 people from all over the world were gathered together. Looking at the statistics, we were hoping we could see the 8,000,000th person make a step towards God. We did not know if or when that would happen. Finally, the 8,000,000 mark was getting closer. It was very close at the end of the conference. Maybe during the dinner, or after the final session? Then, we opened the final session with some worship. We had two songs to sing about the needs of people because we wanted to focus on people searching for God. And just at the moment when we finished these two songs and started the third song “How Great is our God,” we reached exactly the 8,000,000th person taking this step!

I believe God spoke to us. We were so encouraged and we realized that it is about reaching the lost and that all the praise is to God. God is calling the people. We are glad to serve Him. Our dream is that every single person has free access to the Gospel, knows God, grows in Jesus and shares faith easily. We serve, but it remains God’s work. God was so in it!

Let’s open our eyes to what is happening. God’s timing is more precise than we think…..
